Astrohacker Early Release

Astrohacker

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Astrohacker is a social network for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Its core mission is to support writing, sharing, and publishing physics research papers and code on the web and has features that can be used in any area of science or technology, such as mathematics, biology, engineering, and even art and design. Astrohacker is like arXiv, Google Colab, and GitHub in one.

If the world is a university, Astrohacker is where people from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering post images of their new laser, co-author data analysis software, and publish ideas that aren't ready for a journal yet.

Astrohacker is being actively developed and is not yet feature complete. Expect breaking changes during the early release. The ~astrohacker user account will publish updates and documentation.

Features

  • Write, edit, commit, publish, update, trash, and delete markdown documents with the Monaco editor (same as VS Code).
  • Insert images with support for a dark mode alternative of every image.
  • Create a title icon by putting an image in the title.
  • Support for mathematics inside markdown documents. See Astrohacker Flavored Markdown for information on markdown syntax.
  • A unix-like file system and user system design familiar to all technologists.
