Papers are dirty business

YouTube updates video recommendations shown to any logged-in user based on user's past user behavior. I'm one of those logged-in users in YouTube.

Some time ago I did something, perhaps watched a video or gave a thumb up to video, that made the YouTube recommendation engine/algorithm show videos about unethical behavior in academics.

So I've watched videos that describe for example how it happens that a published research study can give credit to authors who actually didn't participate in that study. And that giving credit in such a manner means those, whose names were mentioned, are expected to return the favor.

That is corruption.
