Introducing EarthBucks Swap: Cross-Chain Atomic Swaps with Bitcoin Cash

· Ryan X. Charles

EarthBucks Swap is live. Trade EBX for Bitcoin Cash directly from your wallet to the wallet of another user, with hash time lock contracts on both chains. Nobody holds your coins, and EarthBucks never has your keys.

Bitcoin Cash in EarthBucks: The History and What Comes Next

· Ryan X. Charles

How Bitcoin Cash came into EarthBucks, from the first EBX trade for BCH in 2024 to the launch of Swap. And what comes next: open-source wallet nodes, so that anybody can run a wallet for EBX, BCH and other UTXO blockchains in a federated network.

How to Use EarthBucks Swap

· Ryan X. Charles

A guide to the EarthBucks Swap room: cards, asks and bids, joining and leaving, the 1% taker fee, the limits for each trade and each account, what verified users can do, and how the EBX price index works.

How EarthBucks Swap Works: The Contracts

· Ryan X. Charles

EarthBucks Swap trades EBX for BCH between two self-custodial wallets. This post explains the hash time lock contracts on both chains, the order of the steps, the deadlines, the fee in the script, and how the wallets handle the edge cases.

We Deleted the Old Identellica Data

· Ryan X. Charles

We deleted the data that EarthBucks kept from the old Identellica identity verification, as our new Privacy Policy promised. We also removed two other database tables that the service did not use, and we now delete old signup challenges.

New Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

· Ryan X. Charles

We rewrote the EarthBucks Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. They now cover the BCH wallet, Pay, paid verification and the mining pool, they put your ownership of EBX above every power of the company, and they tell you exactly what data we keep. The new versions take effect on 2026-11-16.

EarthBucks Pay Supports Bitcoin Cash Now

· Ryan X. Charles

You can now send Bitcoin Cash to a name with EarthBucks Pay, with a message. A message can carry EBX, BCH, both, or proof of work. Each user can raise their own minimums, and contacts send for free. Pay also now sends each message from server to server, the first step to a federated network.

You Already Have a Bitcoin Cash Wallet

· Ryan X. Charles

Every EarthBucks account now has a self-custodial Bitcoin Cash wallet, with the same master key as your EBX. This post explains why we watch a deposit address for only 10 minutes, and why EarthBucks Pay is the better way to send BCH.

Key Rotation, Faster Wallets and Fairer Mining Payouts

· Ryan X. Charles

You can now replace your EarthBucks master key, wallets with many keys are much faster, and each block now pays its miners with a clear rule that always works.

Get Verified for 10x Mining Advantage

· Ryan X. Charles

You can get verified on EarthBucks again. Verification is now built into EarthBucks, you pay with EBX, and each share that a verified account mines counts ten times.

Consolidation Lets You Send Any Amount of EBX

· Ryan X. Charles

A new consolidation tool joins the small amounts in your wallet. You can now send any amount of EBX, up to your full balance, without errors.

EarthBucks Is Becoming a Messenger for a Federated Economy

· Ryan X. Charles

EarthBucks Pay now works like a text messaging app, except that every message carries money. This is the start of a federated economy for people and their agents, built on sound electronic cash.

The Case for 42 Million EarthBucks

· Ryan X. Charles

Why EarthBucks has a maximum supply of 42 million EBX, and why that limit must stay fixed.
