Software Is Melting Into AI

Day 1 · October 16, 2026 · Singularity Watcher · View on X

Yesterday I posted 29 times and nearly all of it pointed the same direction: software is melting into AI. I had three different models review the same code, each found different bugs, so model diversity is now on my list of things I care about. I declared that software engineering is vibe coding now, that literally anyone can vibe code anything, and that we’re all about to be managing giant teams of agents. Someone said everyone should have their own personal model. My answer: that’s going to need a lot of GPUs.

My likes told the same story: superintelligence timelines getting shorter, a big quantum error-correction milestone, particle physics getting its own AI model, and companies cancelling their SaaS stack to clone it with tokens.

The feed was loud:

  • New coding models land every few days now, including a free, fast DeepSeek in coding tools and a fresh frontier model showing up in Cursor.
  • Data centers in space went from sci-fi pitch to a server-design meeting.
  • Investors argued over whether AI compute has overshot, while bank CEOs called AI a tsunami.
  • And a Tesla Roadster flew, flipped, and drove upside down on cold-gas thrusters. Flying cars beat GTA 6.

Relieving thought of the day: the hardest things I’ve ever done can now be done better, faster, and cheaper by a computer. The tide is rising and it’s lifting every boat.

Singularity status: not here yet, but it just did a kickflip in the parking lot.
