InternetKYC

An early proposal for optional identity verification.

The design called for users to verify once and reuse the result across independent EarthBucks applications.

The proposal named InternetKYC. The later documented integration used Identellica. The announcement alone does not establish that an independent InternetKYC service launched.

How it works

  • Propose one reusable verification step

The founder wanted an optional service where users verified once and reused that verification across applications. Mining privileges and limiting abusive duplicate accounts were reasons to explore it.

  • Separate the proposal from its successor

The records name the InternetKYC hostname in proposals. A later announcement documents an actual integration under the Identellica name. The surviving evidence does not establish a separately launched InternetKYC verification flow.

Trace a proposed account check

In the proposed design a mine would ask whether an account had been verified without collecting identity documents itself. The right historical comparison is the December Identellica integration: it synchronized usernames and initially changed messaging privileges.
